How do I transcribe audio for free online?+

Upload an audio file (MP3, WAV, M4A) or paste a link on Sprechverlauf. Within minutes you get a transcript with speakers and timestamps — free and without registration.

Is Sprechverlauf good for lectures and interviews?+

Yes. Long recordings such as lectures, seminars, interviews and meetings are transcribed with speaker labels and timestamps — ready to read, search and export.

Are speakers detected automatically?+

Yes. Sprechverlauf uses AI speaker diarization so you can see who spoke when in the transcript.

Which file formats are supported?+

MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG, FLAC and WebM. You can also provide a direct link to an audio file.

Can I save the transcript as Word or PDF?+

Yes. After transcription, download the result as a Word or PDF file with speakers and timestamps.

How is Sprechverlauf different from TurboScribe or Otter?+

Sprechverlauf focuses on fast, free transcription without an account or login — with no account and no payment details, plus speaker detection, chat playback, and export. Other services may offer additional business features and their own plans or quotas.

Is there a minute, daily or monthly limit?+

The free plan covers files up to 30 minutes, 90 minutes of audio per day and 10 hours of audio per calendar month. The daily allowance returns in full the next day, the monthly allowance on the first of the next month. Technical anti-abuse protection also allows up to five transcription starts per hour and files up to 100 MiB.

How long are audio and transcripts stored?+

Sprechverlauf does not permanently store audio or transcript content on its own server. Replicate removes API prediction inputs, outputs, files, and logs after about one hour by default; Prediction IDs and status metadata may remain.

Is it GDPR compliant?+

Sprechverlauf is transparent: audio is processed via Replicate (USA). You must ensure you are allowed to process the content. See the privacy policy and terms of use for details.

Do I need an account?+

No. Sprechverlauf works without sign-up — upload, choose settings, transcribe.
